How much do producers and directors make?

The median annual wage for producers and directors was $90,360 in May 2025, so half of workers earned more and half earned less. The lowest-paid 10% earned less than $45,780 and the highest-paid 10% more than $198,540. As an hourly rate, the median is $43.44. About 143,120 people work in this occupation nationwide. The highest state medians are in California ($129,790), New Jersey ($119,840) and New York ($107,550). California also comes out on top after taxes and local prices.
