How to use the comparison

  • Median vs. range. Two jobs with similar medians can have very different ceilings. Look at the 90th percentile if you're planning a long career.
  • Number of jobs. More jobs usually means more openings and more employers to choose from.
  • Take-home. With a state chosen, we estimate each median's take-home after 2026 federal and state taxes (single filer, no local tax).
