How much do nurse practitioners make?

The median annual wage for nurse practitioners was $132,300 in May 2025, so half of workers earned more and half earned less. The lowest-paid 10% earned less than $101,340 and the highest-paid 10% more than $174,420. As an hourly rate, the median is $63.61. About 323,040 people work in this occupation nationwide. The highest state medians are in California ($168,520), New Jersey ($159,310) and Washington ($156,100). After taxes and local prices, though, a median paycheck goes furthest in Alaska.
