How much do interior designers make?

The median annual wage for interior designers was $67,190 in May 2025, so half of workers earned more and half earned less. The lowest-paid 10% earned less than $41,420 and the highest-paid 10% more than $114,140. As an hourly rate, the median is $32.31. About 71,500 people work in this occupation nationwide. The highest state medians are in District of Columbia ($98,450), Wyoming ($96,100) and California ($80,230). After taxes and local prices, though, a median paycheck goes furthest in Wyoming.
